What Is The Brain Retraining Solution?
The Brain Retraining Solution targets the three key areas that will help you feel better faster!
Your brain is the engine of your amazing body – communicating with it all the time. Your body is also communicating and interacting with your brain. It’s a two-way street. For the most effective healing, the Brain Retraining Solution works on much more than just the standard cognitive behavioral approach. Our program combines the three key areas that correspond to evidence based research.
With the comprehensive Brain Retraining Solution, you are going to see results more quickly which helps you to stay motivated to keep going so that you can get back into your life.
3 Keys of the Brain Retraining Solution
Autonomic Nervous System
Goal: Stop the Stress Cycle
Learn how to stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system to move out of a constant state of hypervigilance and reactivity.
The primal reactive part of your brain is responding to stimuli in a way that is trying to keep you safe. This is a good thing when you are in actual danger. The problem is, these reactions are out of whack and keeping you in a state of reactivity and fight-or-flight. This spirals into constant stress and the symptoms associated with that physiological burden.
This part of your brain – the limbic brain – is often referred to as the emotional brain. It is associated with emotion, motivation and memories. The amygdala, hypothalamus, hippocampus, and hormone regulations (as well as other areas) are part of this region of your brain.
You can learn to regulate this system, which assists you with calming down that vicious cycle of physical and emotional stress.
KEY 1: Learn how to use your body and mind to override the stress cycle.
Cognitive Restructuring
Goal: Create New Patterns
Your brain retraining involves cognitive restructuring to override your stressful thought patterns so that you have the tools to calm down the stress response in your body and teach your brain how to respond differently to emotions and events that currently overwhelm the body.
Your thoughts create a reaction that creates a response in the body. A simple process that is going on in your body all day long. Although sometimes it feels like an over-reaction or even a reaction that doesn’t make sense for the situation. Sometimes it feels like something comes over us and we have no control over our reactions.
The good news is that you can learn to turn off those old patterns and turn on new, more productive ones. When you learn to do this, your body’s natural capacity to rest, digest, and detoxify kicks in – allowing you to heal.
KEY 2: Learn how to override undesirable thought patterns that keep you stuck in an endless loop of reactivity that disrupts your body’s natural healing.
The Mind-Body Connection
Goal: Mindful Self-Compassion
While thoughts are the language of the mind, your feelings and emotions are the language of your body.
When your needs aren’t met or your feelings are overwhelming, you will naturally learn to check out and flee your body as a means of survival.
However, if you want to have a full healthy life, you need to inhabit your body so that you can stay grounded and present.
In this program you will learn how to reconnect with your body and your feelings.
When you have chronic symptoms that disrupt or take away your health, it’s quite natural to get into an antagonistic relationship with your body. But that is not going get you out of this rut. Instead, you’ll learn how to get out of that harmful relationship by celebrating and bringing attention to the parts of your bodily system that are working for you.
KEY 3: Learn mindful self-compassion towards your emotional body on your healing journey.
You now have the keys to Reboot Your Life!
While it may seem like you wasted years with countless false starts, your passion and perseverance has led you here at the perfect time.
Let’s use that momentum to reboot your brain and get you back into your life!
What Is Brain Training vs. Retraining?
Brain Training: Learning ways to increase your intelligence, memory, ability to think, etc. Participating in regular mental activities purported to maintain or improve your cognitive abilities.
Brain Retraining: The Brain Retraining Solution program is retraining and teaching a brain that is sort of “normal in its dysfunction” by learning how to override what Dr. Rick Hansen refers to as the ‘Negativity Bias’ of the brain.
Retraining your brain makes your life better. You will improve the quality of your life by being less anxious, reactive, and depressed. Brain retrainers have more emotional resilience because they are strengthening and stretching their brains and learning how to questions those automatic stressful thoughts that they used to believe as truth.
Some people will want to keep things moving as they begin to feel better and the brain fog lifts by doing some brain training programs. These are programs like Lumosity or Brain HQ or even brain games or puzzles. These are excellent ways to keep your brain active. These tools are being studied and promoted as ways to ward off dementia and Alzheimer’s so it’s a great idea to keep your brain active even after your retraining levels off.
Please Note: If your brain has been physically damaged or broken structurally (traumatic brain injury or TBI), it is advised that you get your doctor’s approval before you participate in brain retraining.
